5 Keys to Disease Prevention

In today’s climate of political changes to our health care system, many are striving for a greater focus on preventative care.  This reform is nothing new to Fearn Natural Health.  Chiropractors, Acupuncturist and Massage Therapists have been treating patients in this method for countless years.  We strongly believe that a wellness approach to better health means adopting a variety of healthy habits for optimum function on all levels – physical, mental, social and spiritual.

Disease - (Dis – without, lack of) (Ease – to free from something that burdens).

Eat Right

Today is a far different day than when our Grandparents or even our parents were our age.  In the post WWII era our society transformed from a rural/farm based culture to an urban society.  The 1950’s began the era of frozen foods, TV dinners and fast food.  At this time our population soared:  The Baby Boomer Era Began.  So began the need for our farmers to produce more crops.  They did and continue to do this by using pesticides, fertilizers, and now genetic engineering.  Our food has lost some of its nutritional benefits by being processed.  Our soil has become depleted of its minerals and therefore does not offer good nutritional content to our foods.  Often soils are found to be contaminated.

Digest Right

We can’t benefit from eating right if we do not digest right.  The alarming rise in Diabetes, ADHD, Autism, Crohn’s Disease, Irritable bowel syndrome and Acid Reflux disease are closely linked to food substitutes and food additives.  Foggy head, fatigue, sinus congestion, weight gain and high blood pressure – can all be affected by digestion and eating right. The use of antibiotics and some medications effect your bodies intestinal balance.

Sleep Right

Scientific studies have shown that without proper REM sleep a person is at a higher risk of high blood pressure, heat attack and strokes. Deprived sleep creates increased stress on the body.  Stress increases inflammation.  Current scientific literature suggests that inflammation is being linked to more diseases today then previously believed.

Move Right

Chiropractic, Acupuncture and massage help more than just “bad backs”.  Many think that health is merely the absence of pain and symptoms.  Today more and more of us are interested in a higher level of health called wellness.  Beyond merely feeling better or preventing heath problems, we want to fully enjoy life by being our very best mentally, physically and socially.  True health is only possible with an optimally functioning nervous system.

Exercise Right

It is our belief that daily exercise is the foundation of youth – there are no pills that will do as much benefit to your body as exercise.
